Simran Kaler (Simranjit Singh) is a professor at Lovely Professional University and an independent filmmaker known for blending academic insight with cinematic creativity. His teaching philosophy bridges theory and practice, transforming classrooms into spaces of visual experimentation. Passionate about storytelling rooted in truth and emotion, he inspires students to see filmmaking as both an art and a form of consciousness. Kaler’s research explores the psychological and aesthetic impact of camera optics, focusing on how focal length and composition influence human emotion—a theme that also shapes his films. As an independent filmmaker, his work reflects realism, introspection, and empathy toward ordinary lives. Deeply influenced by Indian philosophy and world cinema, he views cinema as a spiritual dialogue rather than mere entertainment. His approach integrates ancient Indian aesthetics, particularly the concepts of rasa (emotion) and bhava (feeling), with modern cinematic language.
